Error Message: Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))


This issue can occur when attempting to open quotes, invoices, purchase orders, scheduling, etc...  This error is caused by the Adobe Plug-in which is used for all TeeCal printing.  Below you will find a few things to check which can resolve this

  1. First make sure that TeeCal is closed on this computer.
  2. Verify that UAC is set to never notify.
  3. Verify that Adobe PDF Reader is installed.
    • Open control panel, click Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features (depending on what version of Windows you have).
    • See if Adobe PDF Reader is in the list of installed applications.
      • If you don't see Adobe PDF Reader or Adobe Acrobat Reader installed then you will need to download and install it.

  4. Open Adobe PDF Reader and click Accept on the Adobe Reader End User License Agreement screen.image
  5. Open TeeCal and attempt to open an invoice or quote and verify that the issue is resolved.
    • If the error is resolved then you are done.
    • If error still occurs then you will want to proceed with the additional steps below.
  6. You will need to remove all existing Adobe PDF Reader installations.
    Note 1: In some cases, the older versions of Adobe Reader can cause issues with TeeCal.
    Note 2: We also have documented cases of some computers having multiple versions of the Adobe Reader application installed.  In these cases you will want to remove all versions and continue with the steps below.

    • Open control panel, click Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features (depending on what version of Windows you have).
    • Remove the Adobe PDF Reader or Adobe Acrobat Reader software
      • Repeat this step for each version of the Adobe PDF Reader or Adobe Acrobat Reader software you see in the Programs list.
  7. Reboot your computer.  This is necessary before proceeding.
  8. Install a more recent version of Adobe Reader.  We recommended Adobe Reader X (10) or later.

  9. Continue with Step 4 above.
